In the little village piazza there's a grocery shop and a cafe/bar, and there's also an astronomy observatory on the outskirts of the village which is open to the public on certain important evenings of the year.

Lajatico, home of the famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, is just 7km away, with a greater selection of shops and restaurants. Close by is Terricciola, one of the main wine areas of the Pisa province. A bigger supermarket cab be found just before you reach the lovely village of Peccioli, awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
