Roccascalegna is a small town of medieval origin, with its characteristic castle, dating back to 11th/12th Century, which stands on a crag, also awarded with the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club, thanks to their excellent offering and quality hospitality. "La Rocca" was made famous by some very important national and international film sets.
During the year, the castle hosts exhibitions and cultural events inside; conferences, workshops or presentations of any kind are organized in this breath-taking location.
Surrounded by uncontaminated Nature and lush vegetation, the place is located at 6 kms from Bomba and its navigable lake, with sport and recreational facilities, a very strong attraction for lovers of sport fishing, 10 kms from Villa Santa Maria, known as the ‘City of Chefs’. It looks like suspended between sky and earth, place between the sea and the mountains (the famous ‘Costa dei Trabocchi’ with its long cycling track facing the sea) and the nearby sky slopes on the Maiella Mater mountain.
