Outside, the house is set around a beautiful stone-flagged courtyard. There is also a sunny terrace with outstanding mountain views, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy an aperitivo. The garden is flat and laid to lawn, with ample space to install a pool (subject to usual planing consents).
Easy car access and parking, with amenities just a short drive walk away in the larger village of Comano.
The village itself is an ancient settlement, with winding stone streets, an old mule bridge crossing a little river, and the remains of an imposing castle dating from Roman times; the tower is a landmark that can be seen for miles around.
Just 1km away is the little town of Comano, with bakery, shop, pharmacy, and two family-run bar / rerstaurants. There is also an excellent pizzeria, and sporting facilities. Comano is a town at the head of the Taverone valley with a backdrop of the breathtaking Apennine Mountains and there are many walking trails leading from Comano and the surrounding villages to the hills. The town, which is surrounded by the farming community, hosts an annual horse festival in the summer and offers a good selection of facilities. Frequent buses link to the main town of Aulla (train station, motorway junction, supermarkets).
Lunigiana is a magical part of Tuscany. The hills which encircle Lunigiana create an intimate and relaxed atmosphere whilst the blend of the mountains and sea are extremely inviting to those who enjoy the outdoors. The rolling landscape is liberally sprinkled with castles of Medici or Malaspina vintage and for lovers of the coast the sea is only half-an-hour away. The golden sandy beaches around Lerici and the pebble coves of the Cinque Terre are ideal for swimming and sailing. The area is criss-crossed with marked footpaths for walks to the hills and mountains. The airports of Pisa, Parma and Genova are all within an hours drive.
